SPECIAL SHOW VOLUNTEERING OVERVIEW
The Wings Over Houston Special Show for the Physically and Mentally Challenged will be Friday, October 26, 2012. This show is for those persons who, because of a lifetime physical or mental condition would have difficulty attending the Saturday and Sunday shows.
 The Special Show requires a large number of additional volunteers (about 250), many of whom are provided by corporate sponsors. Watching the faces of these special people as they enjoy the Airshow is an experience in itself. They are always totally involved with what’s going on, and those who are there to ensure they have a day to remember find themselves receiving more than they give.
Individuals, company teams, and families often volunteer. If a family or team is volunteering, please include all members who will attend and their ages. Please consider the age and capability of the family participants. The activities include:
 physical activity of setting up and breaking down up to 5000 chairsdirecting and moving around buses and vans
escorting physically challenged individuals in wheel chairs, on crutches, and with walkers
helping their family members who attend with them.
 The show typically ends in the early afternoon. The more volunteers helping, the sooner everyone is able to leave. All volunteers are expected to stay and help with cleanup after the show. Once all work is accomplished, lunch and refreshments will be provided to volunteers.
Along with the great feeling of helping someone less fortunate, our volunteers also receive a lunch after the guests are gone, commemorative lapel pin, and t-shirt along with a door prize item given away at the post event luncheon, all of which can be sponsored.

The deadline for receiving volunteer registrations is October 24, 2012.
