top gun: maverick – REAL FLYING AND THE TRAINING IT TOOK TO MAKE ACTORS FIGHTER PILOTS ON the big SCREEN
*“We shot as much footage as the three Lord of the Rings movies combined. I think it was 800 hours of footage.”

Check out this amazing behind the scenes look about the training it took to turn actors into fighter pilots for the big screen. These men and women put themselves through A LOT to do this movie, and we think it will pay off. And don’t forget, once you see the film, you are ready to “feel the need” at this year’s Wings Over Houston Airshow, October 29-30, 2022. That same airplane, possibly some of the exact same airplanes (see the comment under the video), will be what the U.S. Navy Blue Angels fly for you right here in Houston. Who’s excited!?
Possible Super Cool Tie-in
There is a possible super cool tie-in between the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Top Gun: Maverick. Sneak peek: we believe that the Super Hornets that you see in Top Gun: Maverick are actually now flying with the Blue Angels. We are researching and will let you know what we come up with in a future email.
