The “g-Monsters” Cometh to Houston!
At next month’s Airshow, you’ll get an extraordinary look at some of the best pilots in the world, flying for you! Part of the fantastic flying involves fighting against the forces of Earth’s gravity or “g.” These g-forces impact all pilots while flying. Everything from the vintage warbirds to today’s fifth-generation fighter planes. The g-forces really ratchet up during aerobatic flying!
What does this mean?
That means that a person can go from weighing 175 pounds (79 kg) on the ground, to over 1,575 pounds (714 kg) or more, while flying aerobatics. All in a matter of a few seconds. If you think about it, it’s pretty mind boggling! These aviators have intense physical training regimes that allow them to safely demonstrate the full capabilities of their aircraft. For them, it’s “another day at the work.” Click below for an inside peek at how it’s done:

US Air Force Thunderbirds, Canadian Forces Snowbirds & Some of the Best Pilots in the World!
Come on out and help the CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow celebrate 35 years of heart-pounding aviation adventure! In 2019, Wings Over Houston is honored to host, not just one, but two national military jet demonstration teams, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Both teams will put on jaw-dropping demonstrations highlighted by precision formation flying (separated by only a few feet) at hundreds of miles an hour.
Freedom’s thunder will roar as the U.S. Air Force’s F-35A Lightning II demo cranks and banks in full afterburner in the skies above Houston.
