The US Air Force notified us that the Thunderbirds will not perform at the 2025 CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow this weekend, October 18 & 19, due to the government shutdown.
Here’s an essential message to all our amazing 2025 Wings Over Houston ticket purchasers. We’re thankful for your support of our event. When you choose to spend your hard-earned money on our Airshow, our goal is not just to meet but to exceed your expectations.
We want to be proactive regarding the government shutdown, hence the following …
The 2025 Airshow is a “GO!”
First things, first … Despite the government shutdown, the 2025 Wings Over Houston Airshow is a “GO!” This includes contingencies to provide you with the best possible experience.
During a U.S. Federal Government Shut Down
During a federal government shut down, the following occurs:
All military and Federal Government assets, including ground display aircraft and military performers, will not attend the 2025 Wings Over Houston Airshow. Assets include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and single-ship military demonstration teams.
Given the above, we have adopted the following
2025 “See a Jet Team Fly – Guarantee!™”
Here is our promise to 2025 ticket purchasers: you will see a jet team fly! And when we say “a jet team,” we mean the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds (in 2025) or U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds (in 2026). This is regardless of the government or any potential weather issues.
How will the 2025 “See a Jet Team Fly – Guarantee!™” Work?
For those who have purchased a 2025 Wings Over Houston Airshow ticket, please come to this year’s show and watch some of the best pilots in the world fly for you.
All the 2025 amenities and hospitality are in place for you to enjoy. This includes fantastic vintage warbirds and jaw-dropping civilian performers. Again, regardless of any government shutdown, the 2025 Airshow is a “GO!”
What Does This Mean for You (2025 Ticket Purchasers)?
If the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds cannot perform this year, we invite 2025 ticket purchasers back for FREE to see the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in 2026.
If the USAF Thunderbirds do NOT Perform at This Year’s Airshow
We will offer 2025 ticket purchasers an equal number of General Admission tickets to the 2026 Wings Over Houston Airshow, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
For example, if you purchased one ticket for 2025 (Business Class, Eagle Squadron, Family Chalet, Prime View, Photo Pit, or General Admission Ticket), you will receive one General Admission ticket for 2026. In that case, you will receive one General Admission ticket for the 2026 Airshow. If you purchased more than one ticket for 2025, we will issue you an equal number of General Admission tickets for 2026.
“What if I Purchased Multiple 2025 Airshow Tickets?”
If you purchased five tickets (of any type) to the 2025 Airshow, you will be issued five General Admission tickets to the 2026 Airshow.
Can I Get the Same Premium Ticket(s) for 2026?
It’s a fair question, and here is our reasoning on complimentary 2026 tickets. We will provide premium-level ticket holders with all the great amenities they are entitled to this year at the 2025 Airshow: food, drink, shade, and VIP restrooms, based on the ticket type purchased. It is all lined up and in place for the show with or without the Thunderbirds. Everything is ordered and ready for you. So please, come out and enjoy the hospitality you have purchased this year no matter what.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to give the same amenities twice. Thus, we invite 2025 ticket holders back with a General Admission ticket in 2026 to see the Thunderbirds and all the other great performers. Additionally, if the government shutdown impacts this year’s Airshow, we are offering special discounts on 2026 tickets to 2025 ticket purchasers. Our bottom line is to ensure you get what you paid for.

We want to make the “See a Jet Team Fly – Guarantee” easy for you. So, issuing 2026 tickets will happen automatically via email at a future date.

If the government shuts down or there is a weather related issue with the Thunderbirds performance, we would like to offer 2025 ticket purchasers an exclusive promo code for deeper discounts on next year’s Airshow featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
What About Another Government Shutdown in 2026?
A shutdown in 2026 could affect our Airshow. That said, with 2026 being a mid-term election year in the United States, a government shutdown is unlikely to yield much political advantage to any party.
