Buckle Up, “F-35 Fest” Barrels into Houston!
As you’re probably aware, the U.S. Air Force is sending their F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team to Houston this weekend (October 13-15). That means you’re in for a great demonstration highlighted by lots of “Loud and Proud” moments.
“But wait, there’s more!”
In addition to the flight demonstration, airshow attendees can get up close and personal with these fifth-generation fighters. That’s because the 33rd Fighter Wing based out of Eglin Air Force Base is sending us not one, but TWO F-35A Lightning II(s) for ground display. We’re also equipping all F-35 teams with a tracking device, just in case :-).

This will be the first time the F-35 has been displayed on the ground and in the air at the Wings Over Houston Airshow. Usually, when we’re fortunate to get the F-35 demo, the aircraft and aircrew are kept in a secure area. Thanks to the U.S. Air Force and our aircraft coordination team, you get one F-35 in the air and two F-35s on the ground!
“The 33rd Fighter Wing “Nomads,” a graduate flying and maintenance training wing for the F-35 Lightning II, is organized under 19th Air Force, Air Education and Training Command. It is a tenant unit on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, an Air Force Materiel Command base. The wing also has two geographically separated organizations, the 337th Air Control Squadron, which provides the Air Force’s only Air Battle Manager training at Tyndall AFB and an F-35 Intelligence Formal Training Unit at Hurlburt Field, Florida.” Source: https://www.33fw.af.mil/About-Us/
