Wings For All: A Friday Special Show

Overview
The Wings Over Houston Wings For All: A Friday Special Show will be the Friday before Airshow weekend – October 30th, 2026. This unique event is created specifically for our guests with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals who might find the large crowds and loud noises of the Saturday and Sunday shows overwhelming.

What to Expect at the Show
This event is a shorter, two-hour version of the main Airshow. Our wonderful performers volunteer their time and aircraft to make this day special.
The typical two-hour schedule includes:
- Radio-controlled aircraft
- Skydivers
- Civilian aerobatic flyers
- Historic warbirds
Note: Military jet teams do not perform during this Friday show due to scheduling conflicts.

Our guests can enjoy the action from a designated open-air viewing area. A large tent is available for anyone who needs to sit in the shade. Many pilots and skydivers love to come out to meet the crowd, take pictures, and sign autographs!
Volunteering

It takes about 250 amazing volunteers to make this day a success! Many of our helpers come from local corporate teams. It is a rewarding and fun day for everyone involved.
Our volunteers:
- Welcome and greet our guests with warm smiles, high fives, and friendly waves
- Hand out fun goodie bags
- Help ensure every guest is safe, comfortable, and having a great time
As a thank you, volunteers receive a complimentary lunch after the event. They also get one free adult general admission ticket to the weekend airshow (valid for either Saturday or Sunday).

Parking, Logistics and Arrival
Ellington Airport is a secure facility. To enter, guests, support personnel, and drivers must present their emailed invitation.
Schedule: Gates open at 9:00 a.m.; the show runs from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Vehicles must remain parked until the event concludes.
Vehicle Passes: A digital or printed pass is required, emailed upon registration approval.
Arrival & Directions: Participants must arrange their own transport. Use the South Entrance on Brantly Street (off Highway 3); do not use the main entrance.
All vehicles will be parked inside the gate on the Airfield if space allows. Due to ongoing construction at Ellington Airport, we will have only one gate to use as both an entrance and exit. Therefore, there is no ability for vehicles to go in and out. Please notify drivers/others that vehicles will need to stay on the airport property inside the gate until departure begins at or near the end of the show.
Other Information
- During the Wings For All: A Friday Special Show, water will be provided. No other drink or food is provided or available (no vendors are in operation). Some groups bring drinks and snacks for their members, that is admitted. Please do not bring full catering or lunches, just snacks. Due to the length of the show, the size of the crowd and other logistics, it makes it much easier to manage on our end if we just allow snacks.
- All guests and their vehicles will need to depart the airfield immediately after the Special Show. If you are planning to eat lunch with your group, you will need to find another location off the Airfield.
- Oversized portable toilets will be available for those requiring additional access for caregivers or wheelchairs. There will also be a small privacy tent for changing, administering medication or other private needs of our guests. We will also provide a Sensory Zone for those that may need it.
- Note that some acts may include explosives and can be quite loud, so please bring ear protection if needed. Depending on the weather and winds, the pyrotechnics may cause smoke to drift into the area. Please also consider bringing sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc. If sensitive to smoke please be prepared to have needed items on hand. Typical winds are north to south, but occasionally the wind and smoke blow into the crowd with an east wind.
- If you have any truly unique needs for the day of the show, please contact the airshow office at 281-579-1942 or email us at info@wingsoverhouston.com.
- There is no smoking on the Airfield – it is a City of Houston ordinance.
