An Airborne Tribute … FB

World War II Airborne Demonstration Team to “Remember, Honor, and Serve” at this year’s Wings Over Houston Airshow

We are putting together a one-of-a-kind flying (and parachute) demonstration of WWII airpower at this year’s Airshow to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. One of the ways we are honoring this milestone is with the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team.

Picture this … round shoots, authentic uniforms and gear. The full Airborne look, jumping out of WWII era aircraft into Ellington Field to honor the brave men who fought with the Airborne infantries of WWII. You won’t want to miss it!

Check out this great video about why the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team does what they do:

The WWII Demonstration Team Mission:

Remember, Honor, Serve

To REMEMBER those that fought and died to preserve America’s freedom

To HONOR the memory of those who gave their lives as well as those that survived

To SERVE by entertaining and informing the public of the sacrifices made by America’s warriors

The Mission

The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team Foundation mission is to keep the stories of our World War II veterans alive to inspire others.

The Airborne Soldier

The Foundation accomplishes that mission in the impression of the WWII airborne soldier. The Airborne is indicative of the high standards, professionalism, innovation, and tenacity of America’s warriors.

WWII Style Parachuting

The Foundation serves this honorable purpose through the participation of its members in active parachute jumping in the style of the WWII airborne soldier utilizing an aircraft that actually participated in the invasion of Europe in 1944. These activities serve to further the memory of their unbending loyalty to the cause of freedom.

Inform And Educate The Public

Further, it is the goal of the Foundation to foster, promote, and engage in research of WWII airborne operations and military history to inform and educate the public through airborne demonstrations throughout the United States and Europe, therefore keeping their memories, sacrifices, and traditions alive for future generations.

Don’t miss your chance to see firsthand what it would’ve looked like and felt to be a member of the Airborne elite in WWI. The bravery it took from such young soldiers will be felt in person at this year’s Airshow, October 18th and 19th at Ellington Airport.
