Annular Eclipse to bring a “ring of fire” at WOHA 2023 on Saturday, October 14th
This year’s Saturday airshow will be so cool, you’ll need shades! Not only will some of the best pilots in the world be flying for you, the solar system has decided to give you an extra show! On Saturday ONLY at this year’s show there will be an Annular Eclipse happening at approximately Noon CT. What does this mean? It means you will get to see a “ring of fire” take place right in front of your eyes at the show! And thanks to our friends and partners at the Houston Camera Exchange, you will be able to look at it through your very own solar eclipse glasses. We will have them available to everyone who attends. What is an Annular Eclipse? An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth while it is at its farthest point from Earth. Because the Moon is farther away from Earth, it appears smaller than the Sun and does not completely cover the star. This creates a “ring of fire” effect in the sky.Check out this cool, two minute long, video from NASA about the details of an annular eclipse!
First things first, the 2023 Wings Over Houston Airshow is a 100% (with Military Support) GO!

What’s 159 feet long and 185 feet wide? A B-52 Stratofortress … of course! The 2023 CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow is fortunate enough to have the B-52 give us a flyby! This behemoth is one of those things you need to see in person, because it’s absolutely astonishing – not only in size but also its iconic history! Come see it flyby on Saturday at this year’s show!Remember, there will be plenty of excitement and thrills at this year’s Airshow, October 14th and 15th! The only view worth capturing is within the gates of the Airshow, in front of all of the spine-tingling action.
